The Order dtd. 13.02.2013 dictated by me, passed by DCDRF, Jharsuguda, being agreed by other two members of the DCDRF, Jharsuguda has been confirmed by the Hon'ble State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Cuttack.
The order was against the O.P (State Bank of India, Jharsuguda Branch), with directions to make suitable arrangements to provide security guard in the ATM Booths installed by him for better protection of his consumers / customers, alongwith to pay the disputed amount of Rs.30,000/- only with Rs.3,000/- only towards compensation, failing which interest @ 8% shall be charged on the above mentioned awarded amounts till realisation.
The O.P (Bank) preferred appeal before the Hon'ble State CDR Commission, Cuttack where Hon'ble State CDR Commission held that, "one can withdraw Rs.40,000/- per day from ATM. But it is a fact that generally one can withdraw an amount of Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 15,000/- at a time from ATM. So one can withdraw Rs.30,000/- in two attempt and not in one attempt " and dismissed the appeal by confirming the order of the District Forum, Jharsuguda.
